Giovanni Spinelli is a partner in the firm's commercial and corporate practice group. His practice areas include general corporate and commercial transactions with an emphasis on international mergers, acquisitions and finance. He frequently advises Italian and other European companies in establishing and developing their corporate presence in the United States, structuring agency and distribution relationships, licensing and joint venture agreements, labor issues and real estate transactions. He regularly advises several high-profile clients in the fashion and banking industries.
Mr. Spinelli was born in London, England, and was educated in the United States, Sweden, England and Italy. He graduated magna cum laude from the Faculty of Law of the University of Florence (J.D. 1991) and the Yale Law School (LL.M. 1994). Prior to receiving his LL.M., Mr. Spinelli practiced commercial law in Italy for two years. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1996.
He is fluent in Italian, French and Spanish, and proficient in Portuguese.
